Trunk

Most luggage is designed to disappear into the journey: dragged through airports, thrown into the back of taxis, abandoned in hotel rooms. The Carl Friedrik Trunk is different. It has presence.

There is something wonderfully old-world about travelling with a trunk—the suggestion that a journey ought to be an occasion, that what accompanies you should have some character of its own. Carl Friedrik has captured that romance without turning it into nostalgia. The Trunk feels thoroughly contemporary, but belongs to that older tradition in which the objects we travelled with were expected to be beautiful as well as useful.

Mine has accumulated miles, marks, and memories, and somehow looks better for them. It has become one of those rare possessions that I enjoy using as much now as when it was new.

There are cheaper ways to carry your clothes. But very few that make departure feel quite so good.

This is the best suitcase I have ever owned.

The Trunk is an elegant looking piece of luggage that still looked brand new after a 5 day international trip.

I did worry about the Trunk being too big and/or too unstructured for routine travel, but I needn't have!

The included fold-down dividers and packing cubes means everything has a place and clean clothes never need come in contact with shoes.

Opening reveals the main body of the Trunk at about 80% of the interior volume. The top/lid is just the right size to place an ultralight garment bag with 2 suits and shirts, saving me a second bag! If such a garment carrier came with the Trunk , I'd give it 6 stars!
